Michigan Environmental Council (MEC) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan coalition of 71 environmental, faith-based, and human rights organizations including six groups located in Ann Arbor.  It works with elected and appointed officials to create policies that protect the well-being of residents, communities, and natural resources.  Drawing on its policy expertise, political process experience, and capacity to rally alliances, MEC has had a hand in formulating every major environmental statute over the last 37 years.  MEC president Chris Kolb, former Ann Arbor City Council member and State Representative will provide an inside-Lansing update on legislative plans and proposals relating to environmental and public health issues affecting out state.
