The University of Michigan has been systematically constructing, renovating and improving residence halls, recreation centers, and dining facilities for about a decade in its comprehensive plan to maintain its assets and assure campus vibrancy.  Next year the iconic Michigan Union, what President Schlissel called “the heart of our community” in his 2015 Rotary Club speech, will close for its first major renovation since it was constructed in 1918.  Susan Pile, Sr. Director, University Unions & Auxiliary Services and Amy White, Director, Michigan Union will provide a general overview of various campus projects completed and underway, and specific information about Michigan Union renovation plans.  The history of our club is intertwined with the history of the Union, hosting weekly luncheons in the building since its beginning and enjoying membership from numerous University faculty and staff.
