It Was A GREAT Evening to be a Rotarian!

R.I. President Gary C.K. Huang came home to his alma mater on Friday evening, Dec. 19. Addressing a gathering of Rotarians from District 6380 and beyond, President Gary recalled coming from Taiwan to Ypsilanti in 1972 to enter EMU, his first trip to the U.S.

With his considerable energy and charm, he introduced a new song in Chinese which the audience readily joined, heard a welcome from EMU President Susan Martin, heard a proclamation from the City of Ypsilanti mayor Amanda Edmonds, accepted a check for $10,000 for PolioPlus from District Foundation Chair Janet McPeek, and left with a presentation folder of Jim Irwin's new Rotary song, "It's a Great Day to be a Rotarian." Many thanks to Assistant D.G. Karen Gabrys, Rotary Club of Ypsilanti, and Kelly Fitzsimmons, Rotary Club of Ann Arbor, for their tremendous work in organizing all details of a spectacular event!!
